TODO

This is a rough outline of my notes file, because it needs to be saved somewhere other than just my hard-drive.

Things To Do

Bugfix

  • Layer adapters don't show pipes 4 and 5 correctly. Entirely my fault, because I didn't want to reshuffle everything, and the code can't handle pipe layer 5 being to the left of pipe layer 1. I know, congrats me. Layer adapter code needs changing. Tamber June 01, 2021, at 01:06 AM
  • Door access levels on SpiderNest map. (Might be best to leave this until I'm closer to sure that the map's almost complete) Tamber June 01, 2021, at 01:06 AM
  • Make paper work for us poor bastards stuck with IE7/IE8 on Wine. (If a polyfill can't fix it, then maybe paper has to be completely rewritten?)

(IE code is apparently being replaced with WebView2 in BYOND 515, might be worth waiting to see if that fixes it!) Tamber June 01, 2021, at 01:06 AM

Feature

  • Low-Pop map Tamber June 03, 2021, at 11:48 PM
  • Pride flag posters
    • Mostly done. Items & structures are complete, now just need a way to get them other than having them spawned in. Tamber June 01, 2021, at 01:06 AM
Done as of ecfb6750, Tamber June 06, 2021, at 08:37 PM
  • TGS-compatible server management thingy?
    • (This is right down there on the priority list) Tamber June 01, 2021, at 01:06 AM
  • Silly-idea: Donut/pastry vending machines. (With an SCP-5740 twist?)

Daydreams

  • Tasks:
    • Things that create little jobs, on their own, that are part of the day to day routine of the station; or add something to do other than just wandering the station wrecking shit
    • Things break on their own and need fixing (Varying severity, from minor annoyance that can be ignored as an inconvenience, to "oh shit, this actually needs to be fixed right now")
    • Stuff that needs to be monitored
    • General maintenance tasks
    • HoP having a quota of tasks to assign (of varying severity), and these tasks are added to the round objectives of the respective player
      • e.g. miscreant HoPs getting to assign shit like "write on at least 10 tiles in a bathroom with a crayon", and whatnot.
      • antag HoPs having harmful tasks to assign. (But gotta make sure it doesn't come back on you!)
  • Mech Bay
    • Additional shuttle dock, for a transport shuttle/drop-ship? (or maybe it can use the normal cargo shuttle dock, if no drop-ship dock is available?)
      • Will need a new drop-ship type shuttle, too.
    • Robotics/Mech bay work-orders console
      • CentCom sends in parts orders -- up to, and including, full exosuits -- via this console
      • Work orders for repairs, etc?
      • Paperwork to stamp and send back? (We do love a good bit of paperwork!)
      • Some orders are marked SECURE and are items -- classified, dangerous, etc (Stuff of military interest) -- that must go via the drop-ship rather than being permitted to be sent back via the normal cargo shuttle. (Maybe there's an extra charge for sending non-secure items via the secure shuttle? Maybe the secure shuttle takes longer to get there, just to disincentivise sending any old random crap via the dropship) Send secure items via the standard shuttle and there's a series of increasing punishments, maybe?
      • How do station staff move the mechs without them having the permissions?
        • Legit route: Exosuit dolly, for picking them up and moving them
        • Illegit route: Hack it and go on a rampage. >:)
    • Work orders
      • Durand combat mech
      • Odysseus medical mech, TGMC corpsman edition
      • Ripley combat-engineer edition?
    • More lore needed!
      • Why are we building so many mechs and mech parts?
      • Why are mechs coming in damaged?
        • War. War never changes. It just gets more expensive.
      • Where are these mechs going?
        • That's above your paygrade
      • What are we allowed to know?
        • What are Robotics/Mechbay staff allowed to know?
        • What are Command staff allowed to know, that Robotics aren't?
        • Probably tied to Plasma, somewhere. After all, NanoTrasen is trying to maintain a monopoly on the stuff; while also trying to avoid anyone noticing the worst effects of it, and TerraGov/Sol is becoming increasingly reliant on it.
